Harald Reinl (July 8, 1908 – October 9, 1986) was a German film director and screenwriter. He directed more than 70 films between 1943 and 1983, including adventure, crime, and horror films. Reinl is best known for his 1960s Edgar Wallace adaptations, which were popular in Germany and other European countries. He also directed several Karl May films, based on the novels by the same name. Reinl was considered a master of genre cinema and was praised for his visual style and storytelling ability. He died in Munich, Germany, at the age of 78.
